Dominica Tour

Arrival in Fort de France in the evening and transfer from the airport to the port of the capital, where our catamaran is moored. Supper  and overnight stay on board before sailing early for Dominica.Arrival in Roseau, the capital of the island which became a parliamentary republic on November 3rd,1978, after about an hour and a half of navigation. For this tour, I chose the catamaran for several reasons:

1) to see the full shape of the coast, the pride of the island,  determined by the relief even under the sea level, which allows  even the largest animals to come ashore: sperm whales, tuna,  marlin, dolphins. 2) to make the trip to our clients more comfortable and with fewer unknowns possible, the island has few accomodations (about 1000 rooms) and its hotel standard cannot be compared  with that of the other Caribbean islands. This will also prevent the various internal flights. However, if you decide to stay on the island you need to book well in advance. We propose

2 resorts: Jungle Bay Resort & Spa in the South-East and Calibishie Lodges in the North-East. From Roseau we begin our excursions on a jeep with a local guide to the major points of attraction in this area: Scotts Head, the road to get there is beautiful and the seascapes are impressive. An ideal place for breath-hold underwater diving and snorkelling. The East coast (from Scotts Head to Castle Bruce): along the way we can enjoy the forest to reach Berekua, the magical waterfall called Victoria Falls, Emerald Pool a basin of crystal clear water, and then arrive in Castle Bruce and its wild delta. On the North the coastal road enters the Caribbean territory of Salybia populated by only 3000 natives, who live exclusively thanks to the tourists' curiosity. Finally, the coastal location of Saint-Cyr with its beautiful beach unprotected from  wind gusts. We will sail from Roseau to Portsmouth, the second largest city of Dominica lovely and enchanting. From here we will disembark and head to Cabrits National Park, located just North of Portsmouth on a peninsula rich in incredibile landscapes. This park contains the ruins of Fort Shirley, a strong British garrison of the 18th century that housed 600 soldiers. We start again on the catamaran in the direction of Anse de Mai, situated on the Atlantic coast of the island. Here the mountains are rounded, it appears the sand and the sea is calm under the cliffs of Dubuc Point. This stretch of jagged coastline creates many coves ideal for swimming and diving. After several days of excursions more or less demanding it's time to return to Martinique, conscious of having lived a unique and unforgettable experience.
