The Way of Rum Tour

Arrival in Fort de France and transfer to "Le Plein Soleil" Hotel located on the Atlantic South coast of Martinique and precisely in Pointe Thalemont, about 10 minutes from the Village of Le Francois. This hotel is perched on a hill overlooking Thalemont Bay and was completely restructured in 2006. Located in a very pleasant environment, inside a flowery park, the hotel consists of 5 colored villas in perfect Creole style for a total of 16 rooms, combining the charm of the tropics with very fine furnishing. The excellent cuisine for lunch and supper is renowned throughout Martinique.
The next day we will begin trips to points of interest in this area: HABITATION CLEMENT a very nice house that is located in the heart of a distillery, which is decorated with furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries, turned into a museum open to the public. The access is allowed to the 2 cellars with barrels, carefully restored, and although since 1988 the rum is no longer distilled, the factory is still active. Both the Francois Bay and the Robert Bay are ideal places for the enthusiasts of water sports and even though there are not many beaches, we will make a trip by catamaran to FONDS BLANCS,outcrops of coral sand, one of the most famous is called the "Baignoire de Josephine" located between the Islands of Oscar and Thierry. We leave Le Francois to go the Caravelle Peninsula located on the North-Atlantic coast, but not before we have visited the charming Village of Le Robert, with its island, considered a biological sanctuary. To book your stay at the Caravelle, peninsula with its unusual vegetation and trees bent and twisted by the strong winds, we recommend "Le Saint-Aubin" Hotel, beautiful Creole style mansion built in 1919 and located in front of the Saint Aubin Islet (not too far the Village of La Trinite'), or for those wo wish a less luxurious accomodation, nothing more beautiful of the "Vanille des Isles" Residence, beautiful property consisting of 4 studios + villa located 200 metres from the beautiful Anse Bonneville (2 km from the Village of Tartane) and 5 minutes drive from the hiking trails of the aforementioned peninsula. Our excursions include a visit to Tartane, quaint little fishing village, the mysterious ruins of the DUBUC CASTLE and the SPOUTOURNE Resort, where the sea is as flat as a pool. Leaving the Caravelle Peninsula we head to Sainte-Marie to visit the Banana Museum and the Rum Museum, located inside the Saint James Distillery. The last stop on our tour is the South coast of Martinique and to get there will go back to Le Francois and then along the beautiful Route des Cretes (Road of the Ridges). This route enables us to reach the Le Vauclin and Le Marin Resorts through the hills of the South.
Once in Le Marin you can decide to extend your trip few days and relax in one of the famous coastal Resorts of Trois-Ilets, Anses-d'Arlet, Le Diamant, Saint-Luce, Le Marin and finally Sainte-Anne.
